Kellogg Community Federal Credit Union

About the Merger

The St. Joseph Valley Community Federal Credit Union was originally chartered in 1959 and served the Continental Can Company employees of Three Rivers, Michigan exclusively. In 1976, the plant was downsized and the credit union applied for a Federal Community Charter in order to expand its member base. The credit union grew tremendously from its very small birth and very small office space in the plant into its own building on Michigan Avenue. Services expanded from providing savings and loan accounts only to offering a wide range of financial services to better serve the growing membership.

In October 2011, members of SJVCFCU voted to join forces with Kellogg Community Federal Credit Union and the two organizations were merged.

Today, former members of SJVCFCU are now full members of KCFCU with access to an even broader range of product and services, nine additional branches offering convenience in Calhoun and Kalamazoo Counties, and a co-op network of over 28,000 surcharge-free ATMs and 30 KCFCU-owned, completely free ATMs located throughout Southwest Michigan.
