We know that keeping your personal information secure is an important responsibility you have entrusted in us. Below is information and tips on how to can keep your accounts safe and secure.

What is "phishing"

"Phishing" refers to a person or group of cyber-criminals who create an imitation or copy of an existing web page to trick users into providing sensitive personal information. Responding to "phishing" emails puts your account at risk. "Phishing" cyber-criminals can collect personal ID's, passwords, card numbers and PINs. To increase the number of responses, cyber-criminals include an exciting statement in their emails. They want people to react immediately and respond with desirable information. To protect yourself, take the time to examine the claims made in the email. If you receive an email requesting sensitive information, check the authenticity by contacting the company that appears to be the originator.

Phishing Warning and Advisory

NACHA (The Electronic Payments Association) has issued an advisory about phishing emails designed to appear as if they were sent from NACHA warning users about failed ACH transactions. The email includes a link that, if clicked, redirects the individual to a fake web page that appears to be a NACHA website and contains a link that almost certainly leads to a Jabber/Zeus malware download. This phishing attempt is not targeted at any single person or financial institution and is being sent broadly across the internet.

For more information on the phishing attack or to view a sample of the phishing email please read the NACHA article.
