When will I receive my new Chip card? All KCCU debit card holders who do not currently have a chip card will be issued a debit chip card by October 2016.

Will the number on my new card be the same as it is now? No your debit card number will change. If you have automatic payments set up on your current card please reach out to these companies and provide them with your new debit card number and expiration date.

Will my PIN number still be the same? You will be prompted to set your PIN when you call to activate your new card so you can select your own PIN number at that time. We no longer send PIN mailers for new cards.

When will my current card stop working? Your non-chip card will be deactivated on Nov 30th.

Why is my card being upgraded to a Chip card? Chip technology is already in use in other countries and is now coming to the US. Your new chip card provides an extra level of security and is easy to use at places already using chip terminals.

What is a Chip Card? Your chip card comes with an encrypted microchip embedded in the card. The microchip provides an enhanced layer of security to your transactions.

How is the Chip card more secure? The embedded microchip provides unique data specific to your card and the transaction being processed. These security features make your chip card extremely difficult to counterfeit.

Can I use my Chip card for everyday transactions or at non-chip terminals? Yes. Your chip card will also have the usual magnetic stripe on the back so you can continue using your card at ATMs and Point of Sale terminals while merchants in the U.S. transition to the new terminal.

Debit Card Round Up

Shopping with your debit card is easy, convenient, and always safer than carrying cash. With your KCCU debit card, you can shop anywhere Visa is accepted! Simply swipe your card and sign for your purchase, or key in your PIN if you prefer. You can also save time by requesting cash back at participating merchants. Now, with Debit Card Round Up, you can start to build your savings account whenever you use your debit card. Here is how it works…

  • Every time you use your debit card, the transaction will be rounded up to the nearest dollar, and at the end of the day, the increased amount from each of your transactions will be transferred from your debit card checking account into a designated savings account as a single transaction.
  • The program is FREE. There’s no cost to enroll. Also, the round-up transfer will only happen if you have extra funds at the end of the day; it will never overdraw your account.

Enrolling in Debit Card Round Up will make it easier for you to save money every day, and the “change” that you place in your designated savings account will add up effortlessly!

Simply stop in at any of our branches, or call a Member Service Representative at 269.968.9251, and tell them you want to sign up for Debit Card Round Up! Once you’re enrolled, you can view your designated savings account anytime within It’sMe247 online banking to see how your savings are adding up.

Your debit card provides round-the-clock convenience at more than 30,000 ATMs nationwide. You can make deposits, withdrawals, balance inquiries, and transfer funds between accounts. Travel notifications

Please notify KCCU of your travel plans to avoid service interruption of your credit card or debit cards. You can do this through secured chat in It’sMe247, call us, or stop into any one of our convenient branches.
